AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

WASHING - STEP 1

TODAY:

4-6x times in total.

1st wash starting from 1 hour post-treatment

And then 1 time every couple of hours until you go to bed.

TOMORROW & ONWARDS:

4 times, morning, afternoon, evening and night.

- Repeat this step washing the lips 4x a day until you see DRY and

RAISED FLAKES,

When you see this, you need to stop washing and you are now ready

for Step 2:

(Actually wait until you start to SEE flakes! Please do not rely on how 'stiff' or dry they feel. It is much better to over wash than under wash; therefore if you are ever unsure as to whether or not you can see flakes, then it is best to assume they need another wash rather than not).

Directions:

Make a bowl of sterile water, and make sure your hands are clean.

Using your fingers, dip them into the sterile water and then pour out the soap onto your fingers.

Small circular gentle motions.

Make sure you are going in the opposite direction of your natural hair growth also!

And then rinse when finished. (Leave to dry naturally).

DRY HEAL - STEP 2

You should only be at this point when your lips have started to FLAKE... This could be anywhere between 2 - 4 days!

There are 2 different types of healing:

Very small visible flakes / slightly cracking and peeling.

They flakes should be very small and 'dandruff-like'

If you are at this stage, then you can use a small amount of cream 1-2x a day until the flaking is almost finished!

(Recommended first thing in the morning and last thing before bed).

Please see bottom of page for more information on how to apply it!

Big visible scabbing/clumping

If your skin forms big scabs you can apply the cream 3-4x a day until the scabs soften down. - Once they soften down then please lower the dosage back to 1-2x a day.

(Most skin types will NOT form big scabs, so it is important that you do not think that you NEED to use the cream.

The lip blush treatment is very superficial on the skin. So unless you suffer with severely dry skin, then the chances are you will not get huge scabs).

Directions:

Using clean fingers only, apply cream using pressing motions rather than

sweeping motions!

Small amount for each application!

Do not exceed more than 4 applications in one day.

DO’s and DON’T

  • No exercise for 10 days! As no sweating is allowed! Salt water removes pigment. so even 'taking it easy at the gym simply won't work!

  • No getting your lips wet in the shower or in the bath for 10 days.  Please make sure your face is clean... Wipe around the area until the last flake is off.

  • No swimming, no saunas, no sunbeds, no sunbathing for 10 days.

  • When you sunbathe after the 10 days are over, please use SPF 50 at all times! The sun makes your lips fade much quicker.

  • No moisturisers are allowed around your mouth for 10 days (INCLUDING sun cream. So please wear a hat to protect from sun)

  • No makeup on your lips or around your lips for 10 days.

  • No sleeping on your face for 10 days. (If you know you turn in your sleep, please buy a travel pillow. The fibers on your pillow WILL catch and pull on the flakes, pulling out colour).

  • Do not pick / scratch the flakes under any circumstances.

  • Do not apply anything else on the lips apart from the cream given to you.

  • Do not dye, wax, or use hair removals for 2 weeks.

  • After the skin has stopped flaking and scabbing, you can apply makeup to the area whilst waiting for the final colour to come through after 4 weeks,

  • Do not excessively stretch your lips whilst they are flaking, by smiling very widely or puckering your lips.

  • Try to prevent or minimise smoking as much as possible at least until new skin has come over the area. (Usually about 1 week). When smoking, try not to pucker lips as much as what you normally would.

  • Try to keep toothpaste off the lips while they are healing.

  • Do not have your teeth bleached or whitened.

  • If your lips feel chapped, do not use anything other than the balm given, Vaseline will make the area sweat and allow the colour of the lips to heal unevenly.

  • Cold sores are very common to appear after your lip treatment. If a cold sore does begin to show, go to your local pharmacy and get Zovirax TABLETS not cream.
