AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your skin will be temporarily sensitised after the treatment and you should adhere to the following instructions for the next 14 days. This will help avoid infection and will allow time for the skin to recover.
- Do not apply makeup to the treated areas during the 14 days following your treatment.
- Keep the treatment area dry and free of any water for at least 14 days.
- Do not apply any creams or healing balms for 14 days.
- Healing will take up to two weeks, and it is perfectly normal for there to be small scabbing on the treated areas, which will fall off within a few days.
- It is also normal for the colour to fade by up to 60% during the two weeks after the treatment.
- Itching is normal. Please DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB your treatment as the colour may heal unevenly and you could risk infection, which in turn could lead to scarring. Allow the colour to flake naturally.
During the post treatment period, please avoid the following:
- Touching the treated area/s with your fingers.
- Using soaps, cleansers, creams or makeup on the treated area/s.
- Having any treatments on the face
- Any abrasive products such as rough towels or similar.
- DO NOT TOUCH OR PICK the small scabs that may appear after the treatment.
- Any heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms as the treated area should be kept as dry as possible.
- Exposure to the sun or swimming.
- Using any form of bleach or depilatory products.
- Should an infection occur, seek medical attention.
LONG TERM CARE
Use a good sunscreen as sun exposure will fade your enhancements.
If you are scheduled to have a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics. Please inform the National Blood Service if you donate blood, as you may not be eligible to give blood for a year post application.
***Important notes***
Please note your selected colour will be more striking and sharply defined for 10 to 14 days after treatment but as the healing process occurs the colour will soften and lighten up to 60%.
The approximate initial healing period is 14 days, however healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, or if you are generally stressed and by poor diet.
Bear in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the Top-Up visit allowing us to fine tune your treatment. This is included in the initial cost, however if you do not attend your scheduled Top-Up appointment you will be charged for any further treatment.
